Water Dispenser Troubleshooting

Water Dispenser Not Working
If your water dispenser isn’t working, the main plug might be improperly plugged in, or the machine’s hot and cold water buttons could be off.
Check and ensure that the main plug is plugged in and that it doesn’t have a short circuit. You should also ensure that the on and off buttons are on.
If the dispenser still doesn’t work, try resetting it by removing some liters of water from it and letting it settle down for about 24 hours. If it still doesn’t work, it might be due to faulty wiring; get an electrician to check it out.
Water Cooler Dispenser Leaking
Various reasons may cause your water dispenser to leak. For instance, it might be that air is trapped from the inside, faulty valves, blockage, problems with installation, mineral buildup, loose nozzle seal among others.
To know how to fix a leaking water dispenser, you have to identify where the leak is coming from first. For instance, if a blockage in the system is causing the leak, you need to unblock the reservoir to stop the leak.
In case of faulty valves, replace the valve or repair it. You’ll also have to uninstall the dispenser and put it up again if it was improperly installed to stop the leaks.
If the leak results from mineral buildup in the taps, you’ll have to use a vinegar solution to clean the faucets and stop the leak. If it’s a loose nozzle seal, replace it with a new one.
Water Dispenser is Clogged
Mineral deposits can clog your water dispenser, making it less effective. To unclog it, you need to get 2 cups of white vinegar, an empty 5-gallon bottle, one 2-gallon bucket, and a screwdriver.
Unplug the power cord from the outlet and remove the water bottle. Then, move the dispenser away from the wall to access the back.
After that, dispense the water from the reservoir into the empty bucket. Then, pour 2 gallons of hot tap water into the empty 5-gallon bottle and add the 2 cups of vinegar.
Apply the bottle with the mixture to your dispenser and allow the solution to fill the reservoir. Wait for about 10 minutes and then dispense all the water into an empty bucket.
Rinse the water bottle and fill it with clean hot water and repeat the process.
After that, return your dispenser to its original position and install a freshwater bottle. Plug the power cord back to the outlet and then turn the energy-saving switch on.
Water Dispenser Won’t Heat Your Water
If the water dispenser no longer heats the water, it could be that the water control feature is off. So how do you address this problem?
If the water control feature is off, turn it on. The feature often comes as a small switch on the dispenser that indicates where you need to turn the dispenser on for hot water. Flip on the switch.
If you get hot water after that, the problem is solved.
However, if you still can’t get hot water, check the outlet to ensure that your dispenser is perfectly plugged into the power outlet. If after this the water doesn’t heat up, check the overload switches.
If the power disconnection resulted from an overload, turn it on and give your dispenser a couple of minutes before trying again.
At this point, if the water from the dispenser doesn’t heat up, the problem might be the outlet. The only thing you can do at this point is calling an electrician to check it. If there’s no problem with the outlet, then the issue may be in the heating element.

Dispensed Water is Too Hot
If the water temperature from your dispenser is too hot, you might have set a high-temperature level.
If the water is too hot, change the temperature level using your dispenser’s thermostat control.
The Pressure of the Dispensed Water is Too Low
If there’s low water pressure at your dispenser’s faucet, there might be an obstruction within the pipes that connect the reservoir to the faucet.
To solve this problem, disconnect the pipe and blow some air through to check whether it’s indeed blocked. If it’s blocked, all you need to do is unblock it.
If there’s no blockage in the tube, check the outlet valve. If an outlet valve isn’t well opened, it can cause low water pressure. Ensure that the valve is free to correct this problem.
Dispensed Water Tastes Odd
If the dispensed water has an odd taste, there might be mildew in your dispenser’s components, water bottle, or tank.
To remove the odd taste, remove all the water from the dispenser and clean the water bottle and tank. Clean the dispenser’s inlet where the tap or water bottle link connects to the dispenser. Clean the taps as well.
Water Dispenser is Not Dispensing Water
If your top-loading water dispenser doesn’t dispense water from either tap, there might be an improper seal on the water bottle. If you do not position the air seal properly, the reservoir won’t fill with water.
Your water dispenser might also fail to dispense water if there’s calcium buildup in the taps.
If there’s an improper seal on the water bottle, you need to remove the water bottle, empty the reservoir and then place the bottle back.
In case of calcium buildup, remove the taps from the dispenser and immerse them in vinegar solution for about 20 minutes.
